Graduated from Cairo University, Faculty of Commerce in 1975 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Dr. Adel got a Masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton school (1986), and then got a Ph. Degree from the same university in 1989. The dissertation entitled "Toward an organizational Learning Model for Bureaucratic Organizations: A Strategic Management Perspective."Dr. Adel is also specialized in the area Strategic Human Resource Management.
He worked for many Arab educational institutions during 1991 till 1999 as a visiting professor and as a trainer. Shared and headed many of business consulting projects especially in the areas of higher education strategic planning, organizational development, change management, human resources planning, organization restructuring, and business planning.
Dr. Adel as served as the dean of faculty of Commerce, Cairo University (2007-2008), Vice President of Cairo University for Students Affairs (2008 – 2011), governor of Al Qalyoubia governorate (2011-2013), and then moved to the United Arab Emirates as the President of the University of Modern Sciences (2013-2014).
